Mag World Association was formed in 2016 to support independent publishers of local magazines. The Association has grown rapidly since then and magazines published by our members now reach over one million households, free to readers across the length of the UK. We represent one of the most vibrant media sectors currently available to advertisers.
The association was founded by Raj and Nisha Nagji, publishers of the Local Directory Magazines producing 17 magazines going to 144 000 households each month in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. Mag World members range from those similar in size, to recently started single titles distributing to 3,000 to 4,000 households.
We all started here, embedded in our local communities.
The hyper local sector of print media has thrived, and became especially relevant when the covid pandemic changed the way we all live and work. You have to ask why? The answer lies in our proximity to our market.
We are the community.
That’s what makes the magazines powerful advertising platforms and that’s why our sector has posted such impressive growth.
Mag World’s primary focus is to provide a support platform that is unique in the industry. Members meet regularly online and the association hosts two conferences each year with the overriding goal being to share and learn.
We love to exchange information, share best practice ideas, and swap contacts. No matter how many times we get together, online or in-person, there is always something new to discover. Every member’s own publication has benefitted from the interaction, allowing them to refine and develop their businesses.
Our Mag World facebook forum is free and remains a powerful tool to find support, ask questions of your peers, pick up useful and profitable ideas and be reminded that you are not alone in your venture!
In 2020 the association introduced a membership subscription for those publishers looking to promote their titles on the Mag World Association’s Publishers Directory, and for those who wish to benefit from a range of additional services and support to publishers.
